Slamdance Writing Competition -  Deadline: 25 March 2013 / 13 May 2013 / 25 June 2013 / 2 July 2013 – TV pilots up to 80pp, feature screenplays 90-150pp.

BBC Writersroom Script Call - Deadline: 28 March 2013. UK residents only.

Screenwriting Goldmine Competition  - Deadline: 28 March 2013 / 25 April 2013 / 9 May 2013 – Film & TV scripts 45-120pp.

Sitcom Mission – Deadline: 31 March 2013 – Submit 15 minute sitcom script for tv, radio or stage.  Aimed at UK residents.

The Sitcom Trials: So You Think You Write Funny? – Deadline: 31 March 2013 – Submit 10 mintue sitcom script for tv, radio or stage. Aimed at UK residents.

Big Bear Screenwriting Competition – Deadline:  1 April 2013 (late) / 7 April 2013 (WAB Extended) -Screenplays 90-130pp.

The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards – Deadline:  1 April 2013 (late) – Short scripts up to 40pp, feature screenplays 80-120pp, TV drama pilots 50-70pp, TV comedy pilots 25-45pp.

Beijing International Screenwriting Competition – Deadline: 7 April 2013 – Submit proposal for feature film, which must prominently feature Beijing as location. Open to anyone living is US.

Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting – Deadline: 10 April 2013 (regular)/ 1 May 2013 (late) – Screenplays 90-120pp.

Just Effing Entertain Me Screenwriting Competition - Deadline: 15 April 2013 (early) / 1 June 2013 (regular) / 15 June 2013 (late) / 1 July 2013 (extended) – Screenplays 90-120pp.

Writers’ Couch (Cascade Pictures) – Deadline: 15 April 2013 / 20 May 2013 – Screenplay 80-140pp. UK residents and unrepresented writers only.

London Screenwriters’ Festival Script Mentoring Competition – Deadline: 19 April 2013 – Submit one page pitch and ten-page writing sample to win a 6-month mentoring and script development package with Script Angel.

Save Our Scripts – Deadline: 19 April 2013 (early) / 10 May 2013 (late) - Pitch for project to be developed plus sample of previous work (feature script or two short film scripts).

Nick Darke Award – Deadline: 29 April 2013 – Submit 750 word pitch for film, radio or stage play idea plus 20pp writing sample.

Script Pipeline TV Writing Contest – Deadline: 1 May 2013 (regular) / 7 May 2013 (late) / 20 May 203 (WAB Extended) – Any length script, pilot of original or spec of existing show.

Austin Film Festival Screenplay & Teleplay Competition – Deadline: 1 May 2013 (regular) / 1 June 2013 (late) – Feature scripts 90-120pp, teleplays (original pilot or spec of existing show) 45-70pp, sitcom scripts 22-40pp.

The Writers Place Screenplay Contest – Deadline: 15 May 2013 / 15 September 2013 - Feature length scripts up to 130pp, teleplays/short script up to 45pp.

Warner Bros’ Writers’ Workshop – Deadline: 1 June 2013 (submissions accepted from 1 May 2013). Submit writing sample for one of their listed current shows. Successful applicants must be able to attend regular workshops in LA.

The Quest Initiative - Deadline: 8 June 2013 – Opens for submissions 20 May 2013. Submit logline only.

London Independent Film Festival Screenplay Contest - Deadline: 29 June 2013 (early) / 30 November 2013 (regular) / 1 March 2014 – short & feature length scripts.

Shoreline Scripts Feature Screenplay Competition – Deadline: 30 June 2013 - Feature screenplays 80-120pp, short screenplays 3-20pp.

Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award – Deadline: 1 July 2013 – Submit 30-60 minute television drama script. Applicants must be under 30 and non-US residents.

Screencraft Comedy Script Contest – Deadline: 1 July 2013 (early) / 1 October 2013 (late) – Feature screenplays up to 140pp.

Screenplay Festival – Deadline: 1 July 2013 (regular) / 1 September 2013 (late). Feature length screenplays and teleplays over 60pp (no max).

Tracking B Feature Script Contest – Deadline: 28 July 2013 (early) / 1 September 2013 (regular) / 27 October 2013 (late)

BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum: November Forum  – Deadline: 20 August 2013 (early) / 20 September (regular)

One In Ten Screenplay Contest – Deadline: 1 September 2013. Screenplays 90-125pp. Must feature at least one primary character who is gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

  1. Still no WorldFest Houston, huh? Any particular reason why? I’d love your feedback.

    • hi cyd, I had a look at the website but couldn’t see info on who the judges were, what the finalists won specifically, what contacts in the industry the contest had or what guarantees entrants had that their script, should it place highly, would be read by highly respected studios and producers.
